The focus of this article is the choices taken in a research that deal with issues concerning sexual relations between people of the same sex in the indigenous villages of Jaguapiru and Bororo, in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. This research is part of an ongoing project, «Sexuality and conjugality among same sex people in the village and in the city», that takes place in these particular villages located in the surroundings of an urban center. Based on ethnographic observation and interviews performed during fieldwork, in this text we focus on the representations, histories, practices and perceptions of two individuals, and present a preliminary survey of the literature on the relations among homosexuality and indigenous ethnicity. |
