El indigenismo de Gregorio Hernández de Alba desde su archivo epistolar

Resumen

El trabajo de investigación que se presenta tiene como objetivo central examinar el pensamiento y actuar indigenista de Gregorio Hernández de Alba a partir de la revisión de una parte significativa de sus cartas enviadas a intelectuales nacionales e internacionales y a funcionarios públicos del país, en donde se abordan temas relacionados con el indigenismo. Para analizar la información contenida en ellas se realizaron preguntas a las cartas mismas sobre las diversas corrientes indigenistas existentes a mediados del siglo XX en el mundo, para poder determinar si perteneció o no a alguna corriente en especial o, por el contrario, asumió una postura académica más abierta y receptiva. De esta forma, se podrá conocer el modo como Hernández de Alba fue construyendo su campo intelectual en los tres temas y, en últimas, el tipo de indigenismo que predicó y el proceso de institucionalización de la antropología en el país.

Resumen

Abstract: The research work presented has as its central objective, to examine the thinking and acting of Gregorio Hernández de Alba as a result of the revision of a significant part of his letters sent to national and international intellectuals and public officials of the country, where they address issues related to indigenismo. In order to analyze the information contained in them, questions were asked to the letters themselves about the various indigenist currents existing in the middle of the 20th century in the world, in order to determine if they belonged or not to any particular current or, on the contrary, assumed a position academic more open and receptive. In this way, it will be possible to know the way in which Hernández de Alba was constructing his intellectual field in the three themes and, ultimately, the type of indigenismo that he preached and the process of institutionalization of anthropology in the country.
