This academic work is an analysis of the differentiated policies for family farming in 3 countries corresponding to the 3 main continental regions of Latin America, from Costa Rica for the central region, Peru in the andean region and Brazil in the southern region. The applied methodology consists of the study of all the aspects that make up the policies of family farming, from the definitions, typologies and some basic data of family farming, going through the institutionality and policies, to budget support to specific agricultural programs family in the countries. From the results of the analysis, we can deduce the diversity of approaches applied in each country to family farming, ranging from public procurement together with food security and sovereignty in Costa Rica, to investments for small farmers in Peru, or the traditional support of the family farming program in Brazil. |
