This research analyzes the socio economic and environmental situation inside five communities in the area of Chacaza, town of Guamote in order to stablish development alternatives that are necessary for promoting security and food-sovereignty in the area. After analyzing, there were some problems that do not permit to reach food-sovereignty like the right to the access of food obeying the Constitution and other existing regulations. Inequality in production factors access as land, water, credits, technology, seeds, in addition to the effects of climatic changes cause in the population of the five areas not to be able to produce enough food for auto consumption and selling in order to have incomes. Farm production in little quantities inside smallholdings are directed to the market and no to satisfy food requirements in people from the community, this situation influences in food security causing high levels of malnutrition, the spread of illnesses due to limits access to basic needs. Changing food habits in people (processed foods), do not provide neither energetic nor protein requirements to families. That is why, this research provides some alternatives for promoting food security and sovereignty inside the five communities in Chacaza. |
